Essential Qualifications for the Delaware Capitol Police Candidates

Prospective applicants must meet the following qualifications:

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Capitol Police Recruit
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. At least 20 and 1/2 years of age.
  2. Possession of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  3. Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Capitol Police Officer III (Pre-Certified Officer)

  1. Possession of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or canceled, or disqualified from driving).
  3. At least 3 years experience as a police officer, performing full police duties
  4. Experience in conducting investigations
  5. Possession of a Delaware POST certificate, or equivalent
