Delaware Natural Resources Police
Now Hiring Natural Resources Police Officers for the Environmental Crimes Unit, the Fish and Wildlife Natural Resources Police, and the State Park Enforcement Officers.
The Department of Natural Resources Police has three units that work with the public to ensure safety, investigate environmental crimes, and make sure that Delawareans and visitors to the state can enjoy Delaware’s natural resources.

DE Natural Resources Police provides a competitive compensation package that includes:
- Salary Range: $62,640-$84,918.
- Healthcare: Comprehensive medical and dental insurance coverage.
- Leave Benefits: Paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays. Vacation accrues at 9.5 hours per month. Rate increases with length of service.
- Overtime Opportunities: Additional earnings through overtime work.
- Shift Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts. Incumbents working night shifts which include four or more hours between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. the following day will receive 5% shift differential pay.
- Retirement Plan: Retirement benefits via the State Municipal Police Pension.
- FOP Membership: Officers are part of the FOP Lodge 1 Collective Bargaining Unit (CBU).
Requirements for Applicants
Essential Qualifications for Delaware Natural Resources Police Candidates
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
- Age: At least 20 and 1/2 years of age.
- Education: Associates degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Natural Resources, Environmental Science, Sociology or related field.
OR
- Age: At least 20 and 1/2 years of age.
- Education: Possession of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Six months experience in conducting investigations which includes conducting interviews to obtain confidential information, gathering evidence and documenting findings.
- Experience: Six months experience in applying natural resources laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.
- Experience: Six months experience in narrative report writing.
