The mission of the Middletown Police Department is to honorably serve the citizens of Middletown and its visitors using Community oriented professional services.

MPD provides a competitive compensation package that includes:
- Salary: $71,000 upon completing the academy.
- Sign on bonus: $5,000 for non certified. $10,000 for certified. Paid out in one lump sum.

- Leave Benefits: Paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays, comp time, personal days, blood days (if you donate blood to the blood drive, up to 16 hours in addition to personal days)

- Shift Schedule: 11 ½ hour days, 4 days on, 4 days off.

Qualifications
Essential Qualifications for Middletown Police Department Candidates
Prospective applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship: All candidates must be U.S. citizens.
- Age: Applicants must be 21 years old by the time they complete the academy.
- Examinations: A physical fitness test and a written exam must be successfully passed.
- Background Check: A comprehensive background investigation is required.
- Medical and Psychological Assessments: Candidates must pass medical and psychological evaluations to ensure they are fit for duty.
